ROLLING DYNAMIC COMPACTION
CON-FORM offers Rolling Dynamic Compaction (RDC) as an effective mechanism for compacting and consolidating at depth, weak marginal soils in-situ without the need for piling or vibro piling. It is invaluable for brownfield and other development sites where a geo-technical issue exists in the sub soil. RDC is environmentally friendly in its execution and produces a controlled uniform solution across 100% of the treated site.
Tackling problems at depth enables CON-FORM to re-engineer the soil and improve its shear strength and weight bearing capacity, thereby reducing the need for more costly solutions. The process also exposes pockets of soft material, voids and other unacceptable conditions immediately. Induced settlement can typically 5% to 10% of the material thickness being treated.
On general earthwork projects, RDC of a fill area will allow thicker layers to be placed, compacting in excess of 3000m3 per hour, per unit, whilst also minimising the long term liability of settlement on deep fill areas.
Major benefits of RDC are its ability to provide significant cost savings, its speed of construction, reduction in settlement, its ability to highlight sub-grade problems and the significant improvement in the weight bearing capacity of the in-situ soil. It is therefore ideal for use for projects, which require deep layer compaction and/or proof rolling.
RDC can also form part of material reprocessing as it can be used for the breaking of pavements, hard standing areas, factory floors, oversized rubble, crack and seat projects and rebar de-bonding.
