FOUNDATION SOLUTIONS:
Part of the Ground Solution portfolio offered by CON-FORM to its customers includes the potential to design and develop cost effective foundation solutions which are capable of addressing both the geotechnical issues and environmental aspects encountered on a project.Methods employed by CON-FORM can eliminate the need for more costly and problematical solutions normally employed, such as driven or augered piles, whilst still meeting the standards and specifications required to support the building structure.

(Click to View E-FoundŽ) provides a summary of the key benefits delivered from this approach and includes a visual depicting the fundamental differences employed by these two methods.The process involves the stabilisation and rolling dynamic compaction of the ground underneath the building footprint and/or foundations to provide an engineered solution that is capable of meeting the bearing pressures required for both the foundations and ground bearing slabs and eliminates the possibility of differential settlement. Concrete pads or strip footings, can then be constructed in the re-engineered ground to support the structural framework of the building. CON-FORM has carried out many E-FoundŽ projects for its clients including George Wimpey, Mainland Construction, Pochin and Dean & Dyball.
Our solution is both long term and flexible as the geotechnical issues are addressed on a permanent basis.
Where piling can not be avoided, CON-FORM can simplify the process by re-engineering the ground bearing characteristics of the soil to support the construction of a ground bearing slab. The stabilised material can then also be used by the piling rigs, without the additional need for a piling platform.
Major benefits of the CON-FORM approach are therefore the application of a lower cost solution which also provides a reduction in time to implement versus more traditional solutions, the production of geotechnically sound, tested materials and the reduction/elimination of imported, expensive, fill materials.
